South Farm Solar Park has a total capacity of 49.9 megawatts – equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 35,000 people – and provides over half of the City Corporation’s electricity needs, powering iconic London landmarks such as Tower Bridge, Hampstead Heath, the Barbican Arts Centre and its historic Guildhall headquarters.
The project, located near the village of Spetisbury, Dorset began providing green energy to the City of London in December 2022. Over £1 million was invested into the local economy during construction, via accommodation, food and the use of local tradespeople and service providers.
