The La Faye wind farm is located in the municipalities of La Faye and Chèvrerie in North Charente (Poitou-Charentes region), France.
The La Faye wind farm is the result of a codevelopment with the company VALOREM. As an integrated operator, Voltalia acquired 100% of the project as soon as development was completed to ensure its construction and operation. The six 2 MW turbines were commissioned in July 2010 and the park has since been operated by Voltalia.
The construction, launched in December 2009, followed the “chantier vert" approach. This program, initiated by ADEME, aims to regulate and limit the environmental nuisances generated by construction sites and to deploy action plans that address the environmental issues related to construction.
This voluntary approach underscores that Voltalia's commitment to the environment goes beyond reducing greenhouse gas emissions resulting from electricity production.
