A Long-Term Partnership for the Energy Transition

Leroy Merlin, the leading home improvement retailer in France, is working with Voltalia on projects that support the development of renewable energy and the energy transition.

In 2023, the two entities signed a 23-year PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) for renewable electricity. This is the first wind PPA signed in France for a new power plant: the Sud-Vannier wind farm in Haute-Marne.

With an annual output of 60 GWh of electricity, this contract contributes to Leroy Merlin France's decarbonization strategy.

“This wind contract marks a significant milestone in our commitment to decarbonizing our operations. We are proud to partner with Voltalia to support the development of new renewable electricity generation capacity.”
Clara Lorinquer, Global Leader for Positive Impacts, ADEO

The Sud Vannier wind farm, with a capacity of 23.6 MW, is located in the communes of Tornay and Belmont, in the Haute-Marne region, and comprises nine wind turbines. Authorized in December 2019 by the Haute-Marne prefecture, this wind farm is Voltalia's first in operation in the Grand-Est region.

The wind farm production is equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 26,000 people a year, or around 15% of the population of the Haute-Marne department. The wind farm produced its first kWh in February 2023.
